Panic Buying at PriceSmart

By Newsroom

Amidst a wave of what is clearly panic buying in Trinidad, as there have been reports of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in other Caribbean islands, PriceSmart has decided to set what it calls reasonable limits on buying.

“As of today, we are maintaining good inventory on the majority of our products. We are actively seeking additional inventory you may need on an expedited basis.  We are setting reasonable limits on the number of units of certain items that can be purchased, in an effort to serve all of our Members,” it was stated in an email message to customers.

While PriceSmart has ramped up internal safety by placing hand sanitizes and wipes near to the work stations for employees it has also suspended the sampling of food products.
