Parlatuvier Community Reassured About Safety Of Water After Mom, Babies Found In Tank

By Newsroom

The Parlatuvier community in Tobago has been assured that their pipe-borne water supply is safe for use, as WASA says the water tank in which a mother and her two young children were discovered in on Wednesday had been decommissioned for over three years.

The bodies of Sarah Smith and Genuine and Phoenix, ages 3 and 1, were recovered from the tank last night.

They had been missing since last Monday.

Homicide detectives are still searching for a motive for the apparent murders; autopsy reports will be conducted to determine what happened in the trio’s final moments.

Meanwhile, describing the deaths of Sarah Smith and her two children as heartbreaking, Tobago East MP Ayana Webster Roy issued a statement this morning urging citizens to refrain from speculating on the details surrounding trio’s deaths.

Webster-Roy, who also serves as Minister with responsibility for Gender and Child Affairs, urged anyone with information about the case to reach out to the relevant authorities.
