Partial Collapse Of Sewer Main At Beetham Gardens

Residents of Beetham Gardens have once more been impacted by issues relating to a faulty sewer line, as a partial collapse of of the sewer main along 17th Avenue, between 6th and 7th Avenues, occurred over the weekend. 

It comes some 10 months after residents blocked the Beetham Highway in protest in January, in protest of faulty sewer lines after months of frustration.

The Authority is aware of what is suspected to be a partial collapse of its sewer main along 17th Avenue, between 6th and 7th Avenues, under the riverbed and CCC Boulevard, Main Street, Beetham Gardens, Port of Spain. This has led to the appearance of three (3) sinkholes in the immediate area.

The Authority is engaging the required contractor and mobilizing all other resources, to commence restorative work within 24hours and minimize the inconvenience and discomfort to the people of Beetham Gardens.

The public is notified to proceed with extreme caution around the work site and will be informed of any revised traffic arrangements as the need arises.

The Authority thanks all those affected for their patience and understanding.
