By Newsroom

A photojournalist with Nation News in Barbados was killed on Monday afternoon when he responded to a report of a murder at Bishop’s Court Hill, St Michael.

Christoff Griffith was said to have arrived at the scene of the crime ahead of police. It is not yet clear how he died.

The abandoned building where the crimes took place is the former residence of the Anglican Church bishop.

The second body is believed to have been a contract worker at the site.

On Monday evening the Media Association (MATT) offered condolences to Griffith’s family and colleagues.

“This tragic incident brings into focus the increasing risks and threats faced by journalists doing their jobs. Our association calls for media owners and managers to ensure security for media workers working both in the field and within newsrooms.” MATT said.
