PM: Cabinet To Receive OSHA Report Into Diving Tragedy

By Newsroom

The Cabinet has no oversight into the investigation being conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Agency, OSHA, into the deaths of four divers in an undersea pipeline last month.

The clarification comes from Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley in the House of Representatives  on Wednesday.

Only once the report is completed by OSHA, the Cabinet will receive a copy of the findings.

Dr. Rowley addressed the matter in response to a question from Couva South MP Rudranath Indarsingh.

On March 11th OSHA issued Prohibition notices against Paria Fuel Trading Company and LMCS Limited in respect to subsea maintenance works and diving operations respectively.

The prohibitions remain pending the wrapping up of investigations.
