“Do not give yourself any pass (for Covid-19) because of where you live and who you are”

This was the warning given by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, as he took time during a national press briefing on Covid-19 on Saturday, to speak directly to the residents of his constituency about their contempt of the Covid-19 Public Health Regulations.

“I could tell you- I represent Diego Martin West in the Parliament. A number of households and communities in the western part of Trinidad are populated to people who believe that it doesn’t apply to them because they live in a high-end district. Well there is no high-end Covid. You will meet the low end hospital and morgue just like everybody else,” Dr. Rowley said.

He said every citizen has a responsibility to do their part in helping to keep the virus at bay.

“Because the national population is depending on you to not behave in that selfish way and expose us to  a Christmas season where after Christmas we find ourselves in a situation where Dr. Hinds is giving us a different report that the curve has changed and we are now not flattening out but we’re steepening up,” he said.
