WATCH: PM Makes Plea To Global Community: “Don’t Forget CARICOM Nations In Vaccine Distribution”

By Newsroom

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has made a plea for CARICOM nations not to be forgotten or taken advantage of, as the world moves ahead with distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Dr. Rowley had the ears of global leaders as he delivered a virtual address as the Chair of CARICOM at the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Media briefing held in Geneva on Thursday morning.

“We are to remind that we need the systems of fairness, sharing and caring to work, according to plan,  so that we can all come out of this dreadful experience guided by principles of equity and compassion” Dr. Rowley said.

“As there is the understandable rush to receive the vaccines and inoculation of our various populations, we are more than a little bit concerned that there is to be hoarding and price gouging as well as undue preference in some quarters,” he lamented.
