Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley opened trading on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange in New York on Friday morning.
The Nasdaq has over 3,000 companies on its listing, making it the second biggest stock exchange on earth.
Dr Rowley’s symbolic ringing of the stock market bell was witnessed by members of the Trinidad and Tobago diaspora in New York, as well as, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Dennis Moses and Ambassador to the United NationsPennelope Beckles.
Friday was a busy day for Dr Rowley as he was also scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly.
