The Police Commissioner has been given a mandate by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, to exercise the “full brunt of the law” in upholding the COVID-19 regulations, particularly as it relates to partygoers.
“Those who see this as a joke and those who are prepared to push the envelope to see what they can get away with- this is what we all have to deal with and we are calling for a responsible conduct,” Dr. Rowley said while speaking at a press briefing at the Diplomatic Centre on Saturday afternoon.
His comment came on the heels of extensive public discourse over the handling by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service of a party at Bayside Towers, in which it was said by Commissioner Gary Griffith that the attendees could not be charged because it was held on private property.
