By Newsroom

On the heels of the Amendments to the Tobago House of Assembly Bill being  being passed in the House of Representatives last Friday, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has announced that he will fly to Tobago in early March, for a meeting with the 12 recently-elected Assemblymen of the Tobago House of Assembly.

The PM also intends to meet with Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis and all available former Chief Secretaries and Chairmen of the Tobago House of Assembly.

The meetings are scheduled to take place on Wednesday March 3rd.

Even  though the  Clerk of the House of Assembly  had been threatened with legal action over  what the Progressive Democratic Party called the refusal to resolve the  deadlock in the  THA,  Dr Rowley introduced the legislation in parliament on Friday, paving the way for a new elections on the sister isle, once the number of electoral districts are increased from twelve to fifteen.

The Bill passed by a division of 21 for, 18 against and no abstentions.
