By Newsroom

A 29-year-old man was ordered to have no contact with a 16 year-old girl after appearing before a Point Fortin Magistrate today on three sexual charges.

Ramon Jimmeal Frederick, of Ravine Ranch, Egypt Village, Point Fortin, was given the order by Magistrate Alicia Chankar as part of his bail conditions which were set at $150,000. He was also instructed to report to his local police station once a week.

The accused was arrested and charged on May 30th by WPC Renn-Lashley, of the South-Western Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) following an investigation into a report made by a 16-year-old girl in October 2019.

According to the girl, on two separate occasions while traveling in her school uniform, she boarded a vehicle driven by a man who allegedly sexually touched her breasts and belly before kissing her on the lips.

The girl further alleged that the suspect told her that if she reported the matter, she would be harmed.

On another day, the girl and her mother boarded a vehicle which was driven by the suspect.

The girl later confided to her mother about the incident and a report was subsequently made to police.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Frederick, who was charged with two counts of sexual penetration and one count of sexual touching of a child.

He will reappear before the court on June 29th.
