The TTPS has confirmed that residents of Salazar Trace, Point Fortin, came to the assistance of their neighbour over the weekend, after he raised an alarm that he had been robbed. Their swift response, resulted in two male suspects being detained and handed over to police.
According to the TTPS, the drama unfolded at 3:10 am on Saturday 14th, June, 2025, when the victim allegedly saw two men take a chainsaw from under his house. He called out to his neighbours for assistance and several of them gave chase when the suspects ran off into some nearby bushes.
The residents subsequently found the two men and handed them over to officers of the Point Fortin Police Station. The suspects, both 24, of Fyzabad, were arrested in connection with the report of Larceny.
Meanwhile, a Moruga man appeared before a Princes Town Magistrate last week, charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. ZACKARIE SHARPE aka ‘Smallie’, of Rock River, was granted bail with surety in the sum of $200,000 by Magistrate Singh-Phillip, on June 11th, 2025. He is to reappear in court on July 7th, 2025.
