Police Constable Committed To Stand Trial For Murder

By Newsroom

Police Constable Donald Snaggs will appear before the San Fernando Magistrate Court at its next sitting, charged with the October 2016 murder of Adalle Gilbert.

Snaggs was committed to stand trial for murder by Magistrate Joanne Connor who presided over the preliminary inquiry.

Gilbert was shot and killed near his home at Carlton Lane in San Fernando after allegedly getting into an argument with a group of police officers who were in plain clothes.

In a statement on Thursday night, the Police Complaints Authority said “The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) investigators co-operated with the PCA’s team in its preliminary enquiries and the Authority exercised its discretion to monitor and audit the conduct of the TTPS to ensure that there was an unbiased and thorough investigation.”
