Police Destroy 3,000 Marijuana Trees

A drug suppression exercise ended with the destruction of 3000 fully grown marijuana trees and a quantity of dried trees in the Santa Cruz area on Friday.


Acting on information, officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF), responded to a report of a group of men hiding in a forested area in the Santa Cruz district.


Upon arrival, NEDTF officers observed a large field littered with about 3000 fully grown marijuana trees and a quantity of dried marijuana trees. No one was discovered in the vicinity of the find.


All tress were subsequently uprooted and destroyed by fire.


The operation was headed by W/Supt Maynard-Wilson, Supt (Ag) Alexander, coordinated by Sgt (Ag) Martin and executed by Cpl (Ag) Majeed.
