Police Detain 27 People At House Party In Arouca

Twenty-seven persons were arrested at a house party in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, during a roving exercise in Area East and Central of the Northern Division last night.

During the hours of 7 pm and 1 am, officers conducted several checks in the Wallerfield, Arima, and Arouca Districts. Having received information, they proceeded to a house located at Bon Air Circular, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, where a group of persons were found to be in attendance of a house party. The group consisted of 15 men and 12 women.

The men and women were found to be in breach of the Public Health Regulations and were also in breach of the curfew under the Emergency Powers Regulations. They were arrested and profiled.

Charges are expected to be laid by way of summons.

During the same exercise, several persons were stopped and searched, search warrants executed, and one person ticketed for failing to wear a facemask whilst in a public place.

The exercise was coordinated by ACP Andy Belfon, SNR SUPT Renzey Ramdeen and SUPT Powder, spearheaded by W/ASP Powder, INSP Pitt and SGT (Ag.) Pamphille and supervised by CPL (Ag.) Bedase and PC Romany. Also included were a party of officers from Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) Area East Intelligence Team, K-9 Unit and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard (TTAG).
