Police Kill One and Capture Two In A Drug and Gun Raid in Arima

One man was killed and nine others- including four illegal Venezuelan immigrants- arrested as police seized two assault rifles, 166 ammunition and 150 marijuana trees at Block 3-5 Wallerfield, Arima on Wednesday. Officers said they executed a search warrant at the premises where, with the assistance of the K-9 unit, they found approximately 19 kilograms of marijuana, as well. Six persons were arrested for possession of cannabis. The officers then proceeded to Balisier Road, Wallerfield, where they executed another warrant, but the police reported that three men, one of whom was known to them, opened fire and ran. The officers said they exercised the use of force policy. One man died and the other two were captured by the officers a short while later. Two assault rifles were recovered along with 29 rounds 5.56 ammunition, 26 rounds .45 ammunition, 25 rounds .40 ammunition and 86 rounds 7.62 ammunition on the scene along with approximately 150 marijuana trees, a desert storm camouflage bullet proof vest, one ski-mask and a firearm sling.
