Police Recover Missing Woman’s Cellphone At Home Of Fifth Suspect

By Newsroom

Police investigators are one step closer to locating  22 year old Andrea Bharatt,  after recovering the young woman’s cellphone and bank cards at the home of a fifth suspect.

The man was detained by officers of the Special Operations Response Team last night, as they locked down parts of Sangre Grande in search of the Arima Magistrate employee.

The four other men who were detained yesterday morning remain in police custody.

Bharatt, a recent graduate of the University of the West Indies, boarded a taxi with a friend along King Street at around 5:50pm on Friday.

After her friend was dropped off to her location at Cleaver Heights, the driver made off with Andrea.

When she never made it to her home on the Arima Old Road, a phone call to the woman’s  cell phone from her father at around 7:30pm was answered by a man who demanded a ransom payment from the family.

The search for the woman is being led by Police Commissioner Gary Griffith.
