An AR-15 rifle and a quantity of cannabis were seized by officers of the North Central Division during an intelligence-led operation conducted in the St. Joseph district over the weekend.

The exercise was conducted between 11 am and 4 pm, on Saturday, 7 th February, 2026, during which Task Force officers of Area West, NCD Criminal Investigations Department Areas East and West and the Canine Branch, proceeded to Caiman Road, St. Joseph. There, the officers conducted a comprehensive search of a bushy area, where they found three bags containing 42 kilogrammes of cannabis.

The officers also found one rifle loaded with a magazine. The operation was initiated by ACP Singh, Snr. Supt. Gift and Supt. Jaikaran and coordinated by ASP Bharath, ASP Pierre, Insp. Peters and Sgt. Pamphile. Investigations are ongoing.
