Police Seize Gun and Marijuana in Sangre Grande

A series of coordinated raids and search operations across the Sangre Grande and Northern Divisions have resulted in significant seizures of illegal substances and contraband.

According to TTPS:

Between 1:00 am and 5:00 am today, officers from the Sangre Grande District, Eastern Division Task Force, and K9 Unit searched an abandoned lot located at Jacob Coat North Eastern Settlement, where they found an assault rifle, equipped with a magazine and 25 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, as well as 3.2 kilograms of marijuana.

In a separate incident yesterday, officers from the Area West of the North Central Division conducted a house search and roving exercise. During this operation, a 30-year-old man from St. Augustine, was arrested for possessing 498 grams of marijuana.

Additionally, Northern Division North officers found 184.19 grams of marijuana yesterday, after they received information and searched a bushy area along La Retreat Road, Arima.
