Police Sezie Marijuana in Toco

Police have arrested three people aged 19 to 21 after they seized a quantity of cannabis in Toco yesterday, Monday 10th March, 2025.

According to police, between the hours of 3:15 pm and 8:30 pm, a Roving Road Check Exercise was conducted in the Toco district by officers from the Toco Police Station.

During the exercise, several vehicles were stopped and searched, however, one of the vehicles aroused the suspicion of the officers and a chase ensued. The vehicle was subsequently intercepted, and a thorough search was conducted leading to the discovery of 162 grams of cannabis. The three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody.

The exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Paponette, Assistant Superintendent Russel, and Inspector Callender, with supervision by Sergeants Leon and Mohammed. The operation included the participation of WPC Charles, PC Maharaj, and other officers attached to the Toco Police Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
