Following a prison riot earlier this week, the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service conducted a clean-up/search exercise at the Remand Facility, Golden Grove, where they  discovered a substantial number of improvised weapons, unauthorized articles and other prohibited items.

A contingent of officers, inclusive of recruits, discovered the items hidden in various areas of the prison. Commissioner Pulchan has advised that an investigation is ongoing into the matter and charges are expected to be laid.
