Jason Jones, a prisoner at the Golden Grove Maximum Security Prison, Arouca, was discovered dead in his cell by prison officers early this morning.

According to officers he was found unresponsive in his cell. He was taken to the infirmary, where he was declared dead. Jones was serving a two-year sentence after he was convicted of robbery with violence. He previously complained of feeling unwell on yesterday. An autopsy scheduled for tomorrow, January 14th, is expected to reveal his cause of death.
