PTSC Temporarily Suspends Service To Guayaguayare, Mayaro

By Newsroom

The Public Transport Service Corporation, PTSC, has discontinued its San Fernando services to Guayaguayare and Mayaro, citing bad road conditions at Robert Village, Tableland.

PTSC apologized for the inconvenience and said it would notify when the route can resume.

Opposition MP for Mayaro Rushton Paray has condemned the decision by PTSC to temporarily suspend its services to Guayaguayare and Mayaro, saying the move demonstrated government’s lack of consideration for those living in rural communities.

“This action would distress many working class commuters who depend on the service of the bus company. The Government has permitted the Naparima-Mayaro Road in that and other communities to worsen despite my five years of fervent pleas for infrastructural improvements,” he said.

Mr. Paray is calling on the management of PTSC to hold  Works Minister Rohan Sinanan to account so the bus company could soon resume its vital service to both areas.
