Corporate Trinidad and Tobago continues to heed the call to support the nation’s youth. Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly met with RBC Royal Bank, Managing Director (T&T), Mrs. Gretchen Camacho-Mohammed on Monday 21 September, 2020 to receive the bank’s pledge of $1,000,9000 (one million, nine thousand dollars) toward the Ministry of Education’s Adopt-A-School initiative.

This generous donation will purchase three hundred (300) devices that will be distributed to twenty-one (21) schools, which include primary, secondary and special schools as well as schools in Tobago.

During the handover, Mrs. Camacho-Mohammed reiterated her organization’s commitment to the development of communities and highlighted that this donation is but one way the company will continue to give support. Dr. Gadsby Dolly while thanking the bank for the donation commented on the critical role corporate entities play in the development of education in Trinidad and Tobago at this time.

The Minister reinforced that right now, the old adage “It takes a village to raise a child” should be at the forefront of the minds of all citizens and that together, provisions can be made for access to education for all learners.

Organisations and individuals interested in donating devices can contact the Ministry via 622-2181 ext. 1429 and 1426 or by email at adoptaschool@moe.gov.tt.
