In a rollback to restrictions imposed in the Covid-19 Public Health Regulations, government has taken a decision to give the green light for recreational sporting activities to resume, with a few conditions.

“At this point in time we are only going to focus on sporting activities that opens to 22 or less people and we are not going to open up yet for leagues and that type of larger activity which may attract larger crowds” Sport Minister Shamfa Cudjoe said while speaking at Saturday’s Covid-19 press briefing. 

The measure will come into effect from Monday, February 22nd. 

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said the Public Health measures will be amended to include the change.
