A Sangre Grande man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Nicholas David Fields, which occurred on February 24th, 2025.
NYRELL HOSEIN, 25, of Ojoe Road, was also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared in High Court North ‘B’, on Tuesday 29th April, 2025. The Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for January 13th, 2026.
Fields, 22, of North Eastern Settlement, Sangre Grande, was shot and killed on Monday 24th February, 2025, at Bois Bande Village, Sangre Grande. One male suspect was arrested in connection with the matter on Friday 18th April, 2025, at Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande, by PC Nanhoo, of the Sangre Grande Intelligence Unit.
It is alleged he was held with a firearm loaded with ammunition in his possession. Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Victor, W/Insp. Sylvester, Insp. Mungroo and Insp. (Ag.) Simon, all of the HBI Region Two.
Hosein was charged by Cpl Gordon also of the HBI Region Two, on Monday 28th April, 2025, following advice received from Director Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on that same date.
