Chaguanas businessman Sumit Chadha will appear in court today, charged with receiving scrap iron material which was recently stolen from the Caroni compound of the Ministry of Works and Transport.

The material was recovered at Chadha’s scrap iron business in Cunupia on Wednesday.

The 32 year old was detained on the same day, with formal charges being laid yesterday.

The accused and one other person were arrested in connection with
the matter.

Chadha was charged by Sgt. (Ag.) Ali of the Central Division.
