Service Disruption: Repairs Ongoing At WASA’s North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant

By Newsroom

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has advised that works are underway to effect repairs to the 42” main in the vicinity of the Santa Rosa Racetrack, west bound lane, off the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, near the bridge crossing.

“There have been some challenges with the terrain which required additional equipment and those resources are presently on site,” WASA said in a statement on Saturday.

To mitigate the impact, alternative sources of supply such as Hollis and Caroni have been redirected to some of the affected areas.

WASA says this, together with its truck-borne service is currently engaged to bring relief to customers in Maloney, San Raphael/Brazil, Carapo, Mausica Road, Signature Park, Five Rivers, Millennium Park, Sunrise Park and Golden Grove.

“Customers are further advised that the Authority will sustain this effort until service is fully restored, and thanks customers for their continued patience and understanding,” it ended.
