Shipment of 33,600 AstraZeneca Vaccines Land At Piarco Airport

Trinidad and Tobago’s has received another shipment of 33,600 AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines which landed at the Piarco International Airport this morning.

It arrived shortly at 6:06am, according to an update from the Ministry of Health.

This is the third shipment of Covid-19 vaccines to arrive from Covax, making it a total of 100,800 doses received from the vaccine sharing facility to date.

The first shipment of 33,600 AZ doses arrived at the end of March, while the second shipment arrived in mid-May.

To date, this country has received and administers only two types of vaccines- Astra Zeneca and Sinopharm.

Latest statistics from the Health Ministry show that 425,422 people have vaccinated with one shot to date, while 242,543 others have been fully inoculated.
