Residents of Valsayn South had the opportunity to voice their concerns as it relates to flooding and drainage issues in their community, in a meeting led by Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan on Tuesday.

At this meeting, the Ministry’s Drainage Division shared its immediate flood mitigation plan for Valsayn South and Real Springs Housing Development.

This plan includes embankment works starting along the St Joseph river stretching to Bamboo #2, as well as works on the Guayabal River, a release from the Ministry said.

The Ministry will also upgrade the gate structure that services this area.

This proposed solution originated from the Ministry’s Strategic Drainage Plan and will be implemented in fiscal 2023.

Tuesday’s meeting also included Minister in the Ministry of  Housing and Urban Development, Adrian Leonce, and executives of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC),
