Special Olympian Shanice Baptiste has passed away. According to a post on Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago Facebook page: “Shanice, who most recently travelled with the national team to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi, was an avid bocce player and had a very positive spirit, in spite of all she endured.”

They added: “The world truly lost a beautiful soul today and we send our sincerest condolences to her friends, family and all who were touched by her light. RIP Shanice.” Funeral arrangements will be provided when available.
