A suspected bandit was shot dead in an exchange with police this morning.
A statement from the TTPS said officers were responding to a robbery in progress at a business place along the Caroni Savannah Road in Felicity at around 2:15am, when one of the suspects escaped, prompting a pursuit.
Police say the man was later spotted in the Charlieville area at around 3am and, upon seeing the officers, shot at them, resulting in a return of fire.
The suspect was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigators seized a Glock pistol containing 11 rounds of ammunition from the deceased.
