SVG: Bail For Woman Charged With Assault of PM Ralph Gonsalves

Anna-May Lewis, the 56 year old woman charged with wounding St Vincent Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, pleaded not guilty when she appeared in court on Monday.

She was granted bail i the sum of EC$3,000 and will appear in court again on September 15th.  

Meanwhile, the Vincentian Prime Minister held a motorcade to celebrate his return to the island on Monday.

He spent the last few days in Barbados, where he was flown for medical treatment after being assaulted during protests in Kingstown last Thursday.

Dr. Gonsalves celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday and is said to be in good health but will have to be monitored over the next few months as a precaution having suffered a concussion.
