SVG: Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate Lifted For Public Sector Employees

By Newsroom

Public sector employees in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are no longer subjected to mandatory Covid-19 vaccination, with the exception of healthcare workers.

At a media conference on Thursday, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves sayid masking, sanitization and vaccine advocacy will continue.

Teachers who were banned from the classroom last December for failure to take the jab will no  longer be required to vaccinate 100 percent against COVID-19 under a new regime recommended by the country’s Chief Medical Officer.

But, PM Gonsalves clarified that this does not mean teachers will simply be reinstated to their previous roles.

Instead, interested applicants would have to re-apply.
