A 16-year-old boy has been arrested by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, Central, in connection with the discovery of a firearm, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Arouca district.

According to police: “The exercise was conducted between 12noon and 6:00pm, on Saturday 29th February 2020 during which officers proceeded to Jitman Drive, Arouca, where they executed a search warrant at the home of a 24-year- old suspect.

During the search, officers found one pistol fitted with an empty magazine hidden in a bedroom of the house. A 16-year-old and the 24-year-old suspect, who were in the house at the time of the search were arrested in connection with the find.”
