Ten Arrested During Anti Crime Exercises

Police arrested ten suspects and seized quantities of narcotics and ammunition during anti-crime exercises conducted across several Divisions yesterday. According to the TTPS, in the Southern Division, officers conducted an exercise in the San Fernando district, between 3 pm and 6 pm, on Wednesday, 9th July, 2025, which resulted in the arrest of four suspects for possession of quantities of ammunition, cocaine and cannabis.

The operation was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Simon, Supt. Jaikaran, ASP Ramsaran and Insp. Maharaj, all of the Southern Division.

Meanwhile, in the Malabar district, officers conducted an early morning exercise yesterday, which resulted in the arrest of five suspects, ages 19 to 32, concerning a report of Motor Vehicle
Larceny. The exercise was spearheaded by ACP Singh, W/Snr. Supt. Maynard-Wilson, Supt. Etienne, ASP Pitt and Insp. Lewis and included officers of the Malabar Police Post.

In the Port of Spain Division, officers on mobile patrol between 8 am and 12 noon yesterday proceeded to the Laventille district, where a white Nissan Tiida motor vehicle, reported stolen from the San Juan district on July 7, 2025, was recovered.

A 48-year-old male suspect from Laventille was arrested after being found in possession of the vehicle. Investigations are ongoing into all of the above matters.
