Ten Year Jail Sentence For Man, 20, Convicted Of Robbery And Ammunition Possession

A 20 year old Morvant man has been sentenced to ten years in jail with hard labour for robbery and possession of ammunition.

Marcus Richardson pleaded guilty when he appeared before a Sangre Grande Magistrate today.

His alleged accomplice, Charis Pompey (see picture below) pleaded not guilty, and was remanded into custody to reappear in court on December 14th.

The duo was arrested on November 11th and charged on November 13th.

The charges arose out of several reports of robbery which occurred in the district on November 11.

Acting on intelligence, officers of the Eastern Division Special Operations Unit, in conjunction with officers of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) mounted an exercise which resulted in the capture of two suspects.
