By Newsroom

One day after the Trindad and Tobago Police Service announced the closure of its investigation into the UNC government’s alleged  involvement in the Cambridge Analytica scandal in 2010, the Attorney General’s office has revealed  that contact has been made with authorities in the United Kingdom and the United States, in a bid to secure evidence on the matter.

In a statement on Thursday, Attorney General Faris Al Rawi “I extend caution against any premature revelry at the pause in the criminal investigation into the matters involving and/or surrounding the Cambridge Analytica fiasco,” adding that Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has been  reminded that the matter is subject to be re-opened should new information be brought to light.

AG Al Rawi said the foreign authorities have confirmed that their investigations remain ongoing but “due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, they have encountered momentary obstacles which will be back on track in due course.
