Teenager Drowns During Trip To Waterfall

There are reports of a drowning incident which took place at the Blue Basin waterfall on Monday morning. 

The victim has been identified as 17 year old Anton Campbell of Ramjit Road, San Juan.

According to reports, the teenager was swimming at the waterfall around 11am when he got into some difficulty. 

Family members retrieved his body from the water, however he was unresponsive. 

Monday’s incident occurred on the same day government reopened beaches and rivers across the country. 

Last Friday, two young men drowned during separate incidents.

In the first case, 27 year old Lyndon Clement, of Arima, drowned at Surf’s Beach, Private Facility, Damian Bay #2 Blanchisseuse.

Meanwhile,  19 year old Triston Matthison, of Sangre Grande drowned during a hiking trip to Rio Seco.
