Thirty people have been arrested during a series of exercises in the Southern Division over the past 48 hours.
According to the TTPS, from 11 pm on 11th August to 6 am the following morning, officers from the Southern Division Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Southern Division Task Force (SDTF), and Canine Unit carried out a warrant exercise targeting suspects wanted for various crimes across the division. During this period, a 25-year-old man from Marabella was apprehended in connection with a reported case of housebreaking and larceny in the Marabella area.
Additionally, a 21-year-old man from St. Margaret’s was detained in relation to a report of robbery with violence in the St. Margaret’s district. A further arrest was made of a 29-year-old man from Hermitage Road, St. Margaret’s, for possession of 360 grammes of marijuana.
In an early morning exercise conducted today, officers from the Southern Division Gang Unit, SDTF, and Canine Unit targeted priority offenders. During this exercise, a 29-year-old man and a woman were jointly charged with possession of 1.1 grammes of cocaine and 121 grammes of marijuana.
Additionally, a division-wide exercise resulted in the arrest of 25 individuals, aged between 29 and 58, on outstanding warrants. These coordinated operations were overseen by Snr Supt Soodeen,
Supt Singh, ASP Ramsaran, ASP Jobe, ASP Phillip, Insp Mohammed, Ag. Insp Ramsaran, and Ag. Sgt Charles.
