Thirty-eight-year-old man appears in court on 32 charges, including shooting with intent

A 38-year-old Glencoe man, ANTHONY RYAN, also known as  ‘Frame’ who was charged with 32 offences appeared in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court earlier today and was remanded into custody for 120 days in accordance with the Bail Amendment Bill.

According to a statement from the TTPS he was “charged on Tuesday 24th March, 2020 for 32 offences to wit, namely; 6 counts of shooting with intent, 6 counts of possession of firearm to endanger life, 6 counts of possession of ammunition to endanger life, 6 counts of possession of firearm, 6 counts possession of ammunition and 2 counts of larceny.

Around 3:00 am on Saturday, 14th March 2020, six persons went to Upper La Horquette Valley Road, Glencoe, in a motor vehicle. They had a dispute with a man who then pulled out a revolver and fired several shots in their direction.

The six had to scamper into nearby bushes and drains in fear for their lives. The shooter then went into the motor vehicle and took two phones and a quantity of cash.”

The Carenage CID together with the investigator Cpl (Ag) Frederick conducted enquiries and received information relating to a suspect. This information was forwarded to the Joint Army Patrol (JAP) who arrested the suspect around 8:30 pm on Friday, 20th March 2020.

The matter was postponed to Wednesday 22nd April, 2020 for mention.
