Thirty-Three Venezuelans Detained In Erin, Tobago

Thirty-three Venezuelan were detained by officers of the South Western and Tobago Divisions, during anti-crime exercises conducted on Wednesday.

In the Erin district, officers of the South-Western Task Force received information that took them to Ayres Road, Los Iros beach, where they saw several people disembarking a vessel. A search was conducted in a bushy area and a total of 15 Venezuelans were detained, and taken to the Siparia Health facility where they were medically examined and later taken to the Chaguaramas Heliport for a 14-day quarantine period.

Similarly in Tobago, officers of Crown Point Police Station, the Criminal Investigation Department, and the Immigration Department, proceeded to guest houses at Gaskin Bay Road, Bon Accord and at Alfred Crescent Bon Accord, where 18 illegal Venezuelans were detained, and are at the Crown Point Police Station awaiting to be processed by the Immigration department.
