Three arrested for marijuana and gun possession in Sangre Grande

Police arrested three persons and seized a firearm and quantities of ammunition and marijuana during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Sangre Grande district yesterday.

The TTPS said in a statement that:

“Officers conducted the exercise between 3:00pm and 7:00pm, on Friday 10th April 2020, during which they proceeded to North- Eastern Settlement, Sangre Grande. During the exercise, officers conducted several searches which resulted in a 32-year-old man of Sangre Grande being held for possession of a quantity of marijuana.

A second male suspect, a 32-year-old, also of the area, was held after one Ruger pistol fitted with a magazine loaded with eight rounds of ammunition were found hidden in his house.

The third male suspect, a 26-year-old man, also of Sangre Grande, was arrested for possession of a quantity of marijuana.”

Investigations are ongoing.
