Three Diego Martin men are expected to appear before a Master of the High Court today, charged with the murders of Kalvin Levine and Anfernee Eligon, and the wounding of a third man, which occurred on November 13th, 2024.
According to the TTPS, KAREEM STEVENSON, 22, ZION DOUGLAS, 24, and DEQUEN SALANDY, all of Diego Martin, also face charges of Shooting with Intent, Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. Levine, 30, Eligon, 26, and a third victim, all of Hillaire Street, Diego Martin, were amongst a group of men in the vicinity of a mini-mart in the area, on November 13th 2024, when a silver Nissad AD Wagon approached and three armed assailants exited and began shooting in their direction.
The men then re-entered the car and made good their escape. The three victims were taken to hospital, where Levine and Eligon died. Two male suspects were arrested shortly after by officers of the Western Division Task Force, while a third was held on November 15th, 2024.
The vehicle involved in the incident was found abandoned in the Paramin district by officers of the Maraval Police Station on the same date of the incident.
Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Ramjag, Insp. (Ag.) Ramsumair and Sgt. Seecharan, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region One, with the assistance of officers of the Western Division Task Force and the Western Division Intelligence Unit.
Stevenson, Douglas and Salandy were charged with the offences on November 20th, 2024, by Cpl Viechweg, also of HBI Region One, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Tuesday 19th November, 2024.
