Three Gunshots Lands Him Five Charges.

 Four days after he was accused of shooting at a man in Carapo, Sayyed Ali was arrested, charged and appeared before a magistrate.

  The 29-year-old man of Coconut Drive, Morvant was granted bail in the sum of TT$275,000 for the five offences including possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The name of the victim, a 25-year-old Carapo man,  who was shot and wounded last Sunday, has been withheld by the police.

Ali was granted bail with surety on the condition that he stays 200 feet away from the victim, is not to be found in the Carapo community, and is to reside at Coconut Drive, Morvant. The matter was postponed to Thursday 6th February.

The victim told police that he was with a friend at Unity Lane, Carapo when he observed a silver Nissan March approaching.  He claimed a  masked gunman in the vehicle shot at him three times. He was hit in his right hand.

He was treated at hospital and discharged.
