Three held for larceny in Sangre Grande and gun found in Carli Bay

Three men from Sangre Grande have been arrested for shop-breaking and larceny. The incident happened yesterday Friday 27th March, 2020.

According to the TTPS : “Officers of the Eastern Division Special Operations Unit and the Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department received information. The officers proceeded to Brierley Street, Sangre Grande, in the vicinity of the Maxi Taxi Hub and observed three young men with their faces covered breaking into two nearby shops with a pig foot and knives while attempting the place items in a bag.

The officers announced their presence and the men tried to escape but were held and arrested by the officers and taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station.”

In an unrelated incident one Winchester Rifle was found by officers of the Central Division Task, yesterday as well. While on patrol, Sgt Thompson, PCs Delandro and Burke along with WPC St John, received information and proceeded to Carli Bay Road, Perseverance, Couva in the vicinity of the river and conducted a search and found the rifle.

The item was secured and taken to the Couva Police Station.
