Three minors were among six persons arrested in Arima on Monday night after officers stopped and searched a car and seized a pistol and five rounds of ammunition.

The police report said that officers were on mobile patrol at Mausica Lands, Arima, around 7:30 pm when in the vicinity of Alenore Gardens they stopped and searched a silver Nissan AD motor vehicle with six occupants. Apart from the gun and ammunition, they found one black imitation pistol and two masks in the vehicle. Six male suspects ages 16 to 20 years, from the Arima, La Horquetta, and Malabar districts, were held.

Meantime, in the Western Division, a 20-year-old was arrested for possession of a Glock and 15 rounds of ammunition in Cocorite during an anti-crime exercise on Monday morning. Officers went to a track off Freedom Street in Waterhole acting on information they received.  They found the pistol when they searched the young man who loves at  Building 6  in Waterhole. He was arrested. Officers also arrested two suspects, of Waterhole, who were wanted on enquiries relative to shooting offences in the Cocorite area.
