Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith leaves for vacation from today.

According to a statement from the Police Service Commission, the Top Cop has been granted leave from October 16th to November 1st.

He will be out of the country until October 31st.

Deputy Police Commissioner McDonald Jacob will act as Top Cop in Mr. Griffith’s absence.

While abroad, Commissioner Griffith will undergo a medical check-up.

Mr. Griffith was initially scheduled to leave for vacation at the beginning of October, but later postponed it due to the ongoing investigation into the Drugs Sou Sou matter. 

On Thursday, four officers including two seniors were suspended in connection with the matter, with 11 others being transferred to different divisions.
