Trini Film Maker chosen for screening committee for the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase Festival

Another Trini is flying the nation’s flag high. Taromi Lourdes, award winning actress and TTFF filmmaker, has been chosen to be on the screening committee for the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase Festival.

Lourdes will represent Trinidad & Tobago on the globally diverse 40 member team. They team has been screening submissions since August 2019 and are expected to announce the official selections live on social media real soon.

Taromi has acted along side NAACP nominee, WInston Duke (Black Panther), coached by Noel Arthur (NCIS), Rafael Noble (Grey’s Anatomy) and Kirk Baltz (Reservoir Dogs). The success of the last film she directed, produced and wrote ‘Hush-a-Bye’ continues in 2020. 

The film, which highlights postpartum depression PPD), is used by many health organizations as an educational tool and conversation starter especially among people of colour.
