Police are working to determine the motive for a gun attack which ended with 25 year old Trinibad artiste Kalonji Arthur being hospitalized, while his girlfriend, Bridget James, was killed.

The woman celebrated her 25th birthday on Thursday.

The two were targeted in the car park of The Brix Hotel, sitting in a silver-grey Toyota Corolla when at around 2:15pm on Friday, when a car pulled up alongside them.

Two gunmen opened fire on the pair before jumping back into their vehicle and escaping.

They were rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital where Bridget succumbed to her injuries.

Kalonji, who hails from Delaford, Tobago, is best known for dancehall tunes “Run Up” and “Triple” which have jointly amassed close to 7 million YouTube views.
